Shopping Cart Software is software used in e-commerce to assist people making purchases online, analogous to the American English term “basket”. In British English, which is generally known as a basket, almost exclusively on small websites “basket”.
The software allows customers to get an online shopping list of items to buy, metaphorically described as “placing objects in the basket.” The command, the software typically calculates the order total, not including shipping and handling (ie postage) fees and associated taxes, if applicable.
